First Key Biscayne Gas Station / Shopping Center
The gas station on the left still survives in nearly the condition as when this picture was taken and is located on the corner or Crandon and Harbor. The restaurant on the right was last part of the 'La Carreta' food chain.
Currently, both properties have been sold and plans to make a large office complex on location is planned, of course provided compliance with zoning rules are met.
Corner of West Wood and Ridgewood Roads and Key Biscayne's first shopping center (located off Crandon Boulevard running between modern day Winn Dixie and CVS. Only the shops have changed. The outside still looks the same.
Key Biscayne Elementary School (as it was named back then in the days before A.C. in the classrooms) Teachers would send a bad student to the Principal's office where that child would get a wooden paddle spanking on a bare bottom.
As you can see from the picture above, not much has changed as far as renovations are concerned on this side of the school property. The cars are certainly a little bit different,
